I got the confirmation today that I would be accepted to join a Data Science Apprenticeship degree. The head of admissions approved me based on my work experience (years of business metrics, Excel and VBA) and self-study (Business Statistics and Advanced Excel)!
To clarify, this apprenticeship will be for an actual Bachelor’s degree in Data Science. Even a year ago I wouldn’t have thought I could be accepted with my educational background!
Just goes to show that with dedication and passion, you can achieve the things you want in life.
Data Science!

It’s a three year degree/apprenticeship, so I’m going to have to study hard like a regular student. It’s going to be a while before I can call myself a Data Scientist, but I will one day.
In other news, I submitted my latest project in the Udacity Nanodegree and passed again. I procrastinated a lot this weekend, playing games instead of finishing the project and even not writing. But this morning I buckled down and submitted my project, sure that it would need revising. But I was wrong, the project included everything it needed to pass.
It’s good to doubt yourself, as long as you still follow through. Better to add a little too much before submission than too little.
The other good news is that I completed Plants vs Zombies for the first time this weekend, that Zomboss eh? What a tool.
