Sometimes I get distracted from my work.
There’s a conversation going on that sounds too fun not to join in. Someone asks me something that isn’t super important, but they’re right there and I want to help them. I work on a small project for half an hour instead of the big one that has priority.
So what should I do about these distractions? They’re taking time away from the things I should be focusing on right?
Wrong, I don’t need to do anything about it.
As important as it is to be able to focus, you also need breaks. I work really hard for long periods of time. I can get so caught up in my work that I don’t properly take care of myself.

I think it’s called tunnel vision.
So, rather than worry about distractions, I welcome them, because sometimes they are exactly what you need to escape the tunnel.
And a little unwanted distraction now and then is worth it for that.
Focus! It’s not everything you need.
